Portuguese team awarded at RoboCup’2015
The team “botnroll.com Soccer Team”, led by José Cruz (botnroll.com, student of the Integrated Master Programme in Industrial Electronics and Computers Engineering – MIEEIC) and composed of Tiago Ribeiro (student of MIEEIC), Inês Ribeiro (student from Secondary School Francisco de Holanda) and António Ribeiro (student from Preparatory School João de Meira), conquered an admirable first place of Superteam in junior robotic soccer (Open League) at the RoboCup 2015.
The competition took place from the 17th to the 23rd July in Hefei, China, where 16 international teams showed the quality of their work. The UMinho’s team also conquered the “Innovation of the year” award and two honourable mentions of “Best Design” and “Best RoboCup2015 spirit”.
The robot was also considered the best goalkeeper at RoboCup2015, as the Portuguese team let the lowest number of goals in.
